Webmatrix and Editra

Comparing Webmatrix with Editra is as good as comparing David with Goliath.

Webmatrix is better.  Editra adds closing tags even to void tags and has no facility to directly launch a page in the browser. 

Choosing colours is much easier in Webmatrix Its just a matter of visual selection.  You need not bother about the code.  Its automatically generated.

The auto-complete feature also helps a lot.  I have learnt many rarely used commands and tags in HTML and CSS while writing code in Webmatrix.

Besides all these features Webmatrix comes with a built in IIS Server and a SQL database.  This makes things very easy.  PHP and ASP and ASPX pages can be loaded easily.  Website can be organised in a separate folder.  Uploading and editing a website is also possible.  It also helps in installing some free applications such as Moodle, Drupal and a few others on the local host.
